Dr. Anna Jane Houghton is an artist and researcher, working with sound, film, performance and print media. Her wider practice spans curation, illustration, photography and music. Her work centres hyper-memory-installation in response to the architecture and history of the spaces in which they are installed; bringing to our attention the auditory presence of place, evoking collective memory and a plural sense of being. Anna’s work has been exhibited internationally and nationally, as part of Liverpool Biennial’s The Stomach and The Port (2021), Venice Biennale Collateral (2024) and TATE Liverpool’s An Imagined Museum (2016).
